In the late 1980s, Jorge Melo was working for a local landscaper in Fairhaven who was ready to close the business. Instead of walking away, Jorge asked if he could take it over. He was in his 20s, the company had a couple of lawn mowers and maybe three customers, but he saw potential where others saw an ending.

 

Growing up in New Bedford, Jorge learned early that hard work and attention to detail matter. When he took over the business, resources were tight, but what he lacked in equipment, he made up for in care and commitment.

 

That's where "the caring professionals" comes from. It's not a tagline we invented for marketing. It's an identity we earned, one property at a time. Jorge didn't just want to mow lawns or install landscapes. He wanted to do work he could be proud of, work that showed people someone genuinely cared about their property. No shortcuts. No rushed jobs. Just quality work done right.

 

As the business grew, so did the team. Some of our crew members have been with us for nearly a decade or longer. They take pride in being part of the caring professionals, and they say it themselves when they go the extra mile on a job. It's become part of who we are.

 

A few years ago, we established our current location on Huttleston Avenue in Fairhaven. We've grown from three customers to serving homes and businesses across Plymouth and Bristol County. But the approach hasn't changed.

 

Today, Jorge's son (also Jorge) works alongside him, handling marketing and management. It's still a family business. We still care about doing the work right. And we're still rooted in the same Fairhaven community where it all started.
