Real landscape design is not just picking plants and spreading mulch. It is engineering. When we design a property in Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, or Rochester, we start by evaluating the site conditions: slope, soil type, drainage patterns, and sun exposure. Drainage is addressed first because poor water management undermines everything else.
Our landscape design plans account for your goals, your budget, and how the finished property should function and look. For new construction, we create complete designs from the ground up. For existing properties, we design around what is already in place. Every plan serves as a clear blueprint covering grading, drainage, hardscaping, irrigation, plant placement, and lawn installation.
Erosion control and drainage planning is where many projects fail. When slopes are not designed correctly, homeowners experience washouts after the first heavy rain. We design grades properly, install drainage systems where needed, and direct water away from structures so it goes where it should.
Once the design is finalized, we handle the full installation and construction process that turns plans into a finished landscape. We bring in quality loam, grade the property to match the design, and address drainage before permanent features are installed. Hardscaping follows once grades are set. Patios, walkways, retaining walls, and granite steps are built with proper base preparation, so they remain stable through freeze-thaw cycles.
